No wonder McCain's been taking it on the chin lately
« on: October 08, 2008, 08:57:20 AM »
    *  In Florida, Obama spent more than $2.8 million on television spots in the last week, while McCain’s outlay was $623,000.

    * Obama spent about $1.5 million on TV ads in North Carolina in the last week, compared to McCain’s $137,000.

    * In Pennsylvania, Obama disbursed more than $3 million, compared to $1.2 million in spending by McCain and $807,000 by the RNC.

    * McCain spent nothing in Indiana.

The main reason he's been taking it on the chin is because he's always going to be perceived as tied to BUSH.  And no matter how much anyone argues about the sad state of affairs our country is in both internationally and domestically in regards to blame, BUSH will be always be accountable to it.

aside from that....

McCain looks like a old geezer with short arms.  Obama looks presidential.

HE ALMOST DIED FOR YOU BITCHES... ;D LOL ive always wanted to say that

I agree with the bush connection but i think he did a decent job of distancing himself somewhat last night from what i watched. The amount of air time and amount of money spent does have a big impact in voter recognition and overall getting your message out imho.

Don't worry.  He only has to take it on the chin for a few more weeks.  Then it will be all over.

For McCain.

McCain is not the same as Bush.  Its just an old standard political argument.  They have some general policy similarities but differ on so many things...too many to list.  McCain is well known historically as someone who jumped between both parties on different issues.

I agree.  They're not the same (McCain and Bush).  But Obama does = the extreme leftwing of his party.

Money has to be playing a role.  I can definitely see a correlation between poll numbers and advertising dollars.

This is what I don't get.  Barack Obama is the epitome of what a corrupt politician looks like, yet no one...absolutely no one wants to acknowledge the over-sized elephant standing in the room.  Planned Parenthood owns Barack Obama.

Well the debate moderators have one final opportunity to bring the heat next week.  Let's see if they address this.  I won't be holding my breath.   :-\

Amazing huh?  The next prez has the chance to completely turn the abortion question upside down, along with other issues, and there hasn't been a single question about supreme court appointments.

Our economy will come back to prominence.  You really think America is just going to punk out and give up?  ???  C'mon, OzmO!  I guess I have more faith in my country than you do.  I truly think you know that we will rebound too.  It's not going to start at the government level.  Government screws up things, not fixes them.  We, THE PEOPLE, will get America back on track.  Not John McCain or Barack Obama.  You know this, bro.

We call 6 million Jews being killed an absolute travesty. How about 48 million abortions?  ???

48 MILLION BABIES KILLED

exactly.  unfortunately, stances on abortion and gay rights secure the most votes for both parties.  and neither party honestly gives a rats ass about either of these two issues.  question.  what did the clinton administration do for gay rights?  what did the bush administration do for the pro life movement?  short answer to both.  nothing.

Wow dude.  I think this is the first time you ever bold and increased text size in a response to me.

Do you really think i don't have faith in my country?  Of course i have faith.  But faith without action is useless in these matters.   The actions need to be discussed so the solutions are lasting.  And the next president will be at the forefront of this.

Abortion will not change C-500 until people change.  Obama or McCain will not change that and neither will new Supreme court judges.

Hence, in this presidential race and or debates it's a non-issue.  And i don't see the public baking it an issue in the storm of current events other than maybe a few desperate McCain voters who would like to distract from the REAL issues.

It has to do with a whole lot.  Supreme court appointments is one of the president's most important and far reaching jobs.  Supreme court appointments are essentially about one issue:  abortion.  Imagine the changes in society if Roe is overturned.

I don't vote based on this issue, but millions do.  It's definitely an important issue.  Just because there are paramount issues doesn't mean the candidates shouldn't even be asked about other social/domestic things like abortion and supreme court appointments, particularly when they affect so many people.

It has nothing to do with current issues; the REAL political issues as they relate to the presidential race.

Repubs would love nothing better than to have this crap be an issue again.    But unfortunately for them the current situation seems to distract everyone.

It will always be a current issue.  It's just not the most important issue of the day.  That doesn't mean we completely ignore it.  As Colossus said, it's the elephant in the room.
