I disagree with headhuntersix, but I did hear it said that if every country in the world consumed the way that the US does, we would need about four planets like earth full of resources.  We've seen what happened when India and China prospered and started consuming more gas and food and pursuing "The American Dream" too.  

So if we can't all be equally rich, and if things can't continue to be the way that they have been so far, the only solution is for all to be equally poor?
