I don't know whether the movie is good or bad, but I hope you are not one of those who go to the movies based on box office numbers. I know that's important to the distributors, filmmakers, and the industry overall. However, as a film goer...who cares? I think the numbers reflect the 16-25 crowd that make up the so much of the movie audience. They don't realize the greatness of Pacino and DeNiro and how long fans have waited to see them act together. And "Heat" does not count.  ::)

Miracle At St. Anna was a great flick and it flopped at the box office too.

Sometimes box office performance can be an indicator of whether or not something is worth viewing,
...but when you consider the top box office draw last weekend was "Beverly Hills Chihuahua", ...I think it's safe to say box office performance is hardly a hard & fast rule to play by.  ;)

Besides, I can't imagine a scenario where you can have Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino together, on the same screen, and it NOT being worth the price of admission. I strongly suspect the lack of box office to be attributable to other factors, like limited distribution, marketing etc. I don't even recall seeing many trailers out for it. I think I happpened to stumbled across it myself.

Despite it's lack of box office, I prefer to believe you can't go wrong with those two headlining,
...and from what I saw, ...I was right. Definitely worth a see.

it was well marketed, they were on the Today show, good morning america, if it was done 10,15 yrs ago it would of been a hit, i may download it.

I don't care how prestigious an actor is.......DiNero and Pacino are fucking old.  That's like Clint Eastwood dressing up in his cowboy outfit and starring in a major motion picture.  No way!

I have a feeling that if Clint Eastwood did dress up in a cowboy outfit and starred in a major motion picture, he'd do a fabulous job in choosing appropriate material.

If you're unable to enjoy a fine performance because the actors involved are older, or perhaps may have a line or two or a few crows feet around the eyes, ...perhaps you should limit your entertainment selections to reruns of Sesame Street & Hannah Montana.

Come on......those guys play the same stupid tough guy roles over and over and over.  Just like Denzel Washington.  They are old news.  There are plenty of up and coming new actors that are just as amazing as DiNero.  He's past his prime.

Any afficionado of fine wines will tell you, ...they only get better with age.  :)

I didn't see any similarities between DeNiro's character in 'Righteous Kill' and his characters in 'Meet The Parents', 'Wag The Dog, 'Casino', or 'The Score', and I wasn't able to draw any comparisons between Pacino's character in 'Righteous Kill', and his characters in 'The Merchant of Venice' or 'Carlito's Way', but if you had taken the time to actually view the film, you would have known this. They're not simply playing "the same stupid tough guy roles."

ps: Some of us are not simply content to be entertained with a story, ...some of us actually enjoy an artist's command and commitment to their characters, and the truth of their performances. And while Leonardo DiCaprio or Matt Damon could be considered fine, talented up and coming actors, there's no way they could have portrayed Turk and Rooster.

Denzel was excellent in The Great Debaters last year. Hardly a "tough guy" role.
Pacino and DeNiro have both played many types of characters over their entire body of work.

Eastwood was a little on the old side in Unforgiven and his performance was excellent in it.
