« on: October 13, 2008, 05:01:47 PM »
To all the Canadians on the board, ...hope you're all having a Happy Thanksgiving.

As Canadians, we have a lot to be thankful for, ...namely, ...we're not Americans.

Don't forget to Go out & Vote Tomorrow to make sure we remain Canadians.

Actually, this thanksgiving, Canadians were grateful that our economy isn't going to take the nosedive that the US and the rest of the world's economies are taking.

The IMF has declared that out of all the Western nations, Canada has the most stable banking industry, and is again expected to outperform all the G7 nations. So, you can stick that in your pipe and smoke it.  8)

If we are your mentally retarded little brother, why is our banking system more stable than yours?
Why are our financial markets the most stable of all the western industrialized countries?
Why will Canada surpass all the G7 nations this year?

...and why did you guys go through 8 yrs of Bush?

What do I look like Jeeves? Not sure where you got your numbers from, but I'm assuming if they were correct, probably for the money, ...but we all know that won't last long. We do know there's been a massive influx of Americans up here because Bush has been screwing up your country. We've seen some of the highest numbers in over 30 yrs. http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=3433005

Well, we should be grateful we kept those bastards from getting a majority government,
...and I'm glad my MP kept her seat in Parliament.

I never thought I'd say this, ...but I'm very grateful to the BQ for shutting that fvcker down in Quebec.

That's just more of a burden on your government sponsored health care system and social infrastructure.

Enjoy your white Mexicans.  :-\

Congrats, Judi?

Canadian PM Harper re-elected

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/americas/10/15/canada.vote.ap/index.html

The Liberal Party, long Canada's top party, suffered a severe drubbing, dropping to 76 seats from 95 in the previous Parliament, according to the election agency. Bloc Quebecois won 50 seats, the New Democrats 37 and independent candidates 2.

Apparently most Canadians got tired of listening to some wannabe pseudo-intellectual who claims to have the same IQ as Einstein while peddling fraudulent gas caps for a living?

I wasn't really asking you a question.  The string of questions were rhetorical.

It is likely that hundreds of thousands of Canadians move here for the same reason people from all over the world are trying to move here:  it's a better country with better opportunities.

Congratulations?   :-\   This was just a big colossal waste of tax-payer money.

Harper broke his own initiative to call a snap election within 2.5 months, thinking he could possibly snatch a majority parliament before the economic shit hit the fan. He didn't expect the worldwide financial markets to tank mid campaign though. At least we kept him from getting his majority. So we're back with a Harper minority government, ... and now a possible new leader for the Liberal party. Dion is the first Liberal party leader to not win an election. I have a feeling it might be either one of two former college room-mates Bob Rae or Michael Ignatieff. I'm cool with either one.

Some good news did come out of this though, ...Justin Trudeau won a seat away from the Bloc Quebecois in Papineau. Some people are saying he has a run at the leadership, ...but I doubt it, ...not for at least another decade.
