Hey guys,
It will be a Warner Brothers Production and will air on a major network still to be determined. They will probably start filming in Jan. of 2009. The women who will appear were selected from a group and should all provide a positive representation of the lifestyle involved with being a fitness or figure athlete. The group contains some very powerful personalities and accomplished competitors. If the show does well then it should open the door for subsequent seasons probably featuring new athletes and hopefully some of your favorites so everyone's support is needed as this can be a big opportunity for a lot of people.

Reality TV Comes To The IFBB
By Terry Goodlad
After lots of talk and buzz over the last 3 months about a potential reality TV show, that has not been given a name yet, starring IFBB Fitness and Figure Pro’s, the anticipated reality TV show is actually becoming a reality.
IFBB Figure Pro Jane Awad who is also the co-executive producer and creative consultant for the project, announced the shows cast today. The personalities were chosen for their appeal as well as diversity in disciplines, experience in the sport, and variety of personalities. The show will start with 6 cast members, Jane Awad, Elaine Goodlad, Jennifer Hendershott, Alicia Marie, Trish Warren, and Jaime Ford.
Business is about relationships and this opportunity came from a relationship Awad developed with prominent Hollywood producer Anthony Romano 6 years ago. Romano had approached Awad about acting in one of his productions but due to circumstances she regretfully but respectfully declined.
Romano re-initiated contacted with Awad 6 months ago to discuss another production which opened the door for Awad to present an idea that she had been thinking about a long time, “I had this idea for a reality TV show for years. We started talking about the different things in our sport that people would find interesting. People read about us in magazines but there is so much they don’t know about the training, what drives us, the day to day stuff that is a part of being the best in the world at what we do.”
Romano is a very powerful producer in Hollywood with a pedigree as long as your arm, in conjunction with in another very prominent tinsel town heavy hitter, Producer David Krieff who has also made some of the biggest names in the business. Krieff had years ago worked with Rachel McLish back when she was Ms. Olympia on a production and was very familiar with the IFBB and it’s athletes. “David understood our sport from working with Rachel so it was easier to explain and visualize what the show could be.”
The concept was presented to Warner Brothers, they liked the idea, and Warner Brothers CEO Mark Wolper got involved. Awad explained that the show is not just a concept at this point, “Warner brothers is behind it so, there won’t be a pilot, we go right into production, probably some time in January. It’s just a matter of deciding which network it’s going to air on. The plan is to shoot 13 episodes the first season.”
Awad explained that each of the cast members will be shadowed by camera’s all day long revealing every aspect of their personal and private lives with an emphasis on being a Professional fitness or figure athlete, “the idea is to show each girl, what they deal with each day, what drives them, the challenges they face, and what makes them do what they do. The IFBB has never had this opportunity to be inside the homes of average American’s, to show them what we are about and what we do. It’s a great opportunity for our sport and everyone involved.”
Elaine Goodlad was in Florida today when Awad gave her the call and while she was aware that she was likely to be cast, she was thrilled when the list was made formal,
“I can’t believe it’s actually going to happen! This is going to be fun, maybe not so comfortable all the time but it’s a once in a lifetime chance. I know a lot of really good girls tried out for this, some of them my very good friends and I know they will all be disappointed. I think the girls they did cast for the show will make a very interesting and entertaining mix of personalities though. I am excited to see how it all works out.”
