The Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner
« on: October 16, 2008, 06:40:00 PM »
Obama is speaking now at this dinner.  You can tell he's not comfortable in this setting.  There's a nervous laughter in the room.  I'm even pulling for him to be funny because I hate to see people bomb when they are trying to be funny.....he's warming up right now.

McCain was nothing short of brilliant!  He had the room cracking up and, in a sense, put some serious pressure on Obama.

Obama finished up strong.

Seriously, taking the partisan politics out of all of this....I really wish that these two had agreed to travel the country together and did the town hall setting rather than the stale and bitter debates that we've seen.

Good stuff tonight!!!  Good stuff.  Great job by both candidates.

Nice.

I wish they would have done the cross country town halls too.

I seen it this morning. McCain actually seems like a good guy. I think if he acted like that throughout his campaign, he might be doing better in the polls.

Agree, McCain has shown many a nice side, and used to come across well. I think his advisers telling him to act like a nasty guy, and forcing Palin upon him is what may make him loose - not he himself per se.

I know.  Would have been cool if they had traveled around the country and had more civil discussions with the people.

Next presidential election maybe?
