he's been connected with Naomi Campbell in the past...
You're thinking of Adam, the bassist. They were engaged for a bit. He's known for his "size," and the original cover of "achtung baby" was just a pic of him naked. Apparently he has hooked up with many, MANY super models over the years. Pimp.
was the greatest rock spectacle ever.zoo tv started what now most use with video screens and cameras to produce shows.sound, vision, look, politics, pop art was all covered,i have burned out that dvd i watch it all the time, the music is still relevant.can't wait till the nxt tour, elevation tour was great, vertigo tour great, popmart wa zoo tv x10 but musically fell flat but i still enjoyed it.bono is a very smart and compassionate and rich man.
yeah, whenever i hear Muse and Radiohead try to do what U2 did on Achtung Baby, it only reinforces my appreciation for what U2 did on that album. They took pop sensibility, dance rythms, prog rock and made it relevant and timeless. Take a look at this video and song:
If you know anything (or care for that matter) about post modernism and its importance in terms of our current and future culture, you can't help but be floored by how available U2 made this for the common person. Postmodernism was previously associated with snobs and erudite, elitist asshats who liked to talk about literature and coffee beans, but now could be applied to everyone, as U2 predicted a media dominated society delivered in quick clips for the attention span deprived. If any band came out with that song today, they would be called the next great rock band and would be hailed as geniuses. To combine that kind of lyrical depth and stimulating imagery in a song
that radio friendly is completely unheard of. Thats why Radiohead can't connect with a huge audience and Muse can'y get past making really dramatic rock that never goes anywhere. both bands are awesome, no doubt, and even more awesome live, but their music will never have anything close that the type of cultural relevance attained by U2.
