Can't be both.

For months Obama has been accused of being the most liberal senator.

Per definition a liberal is not a Marxist - he's pretty much the total opposite.

I thought McCain had this basic grasp of political ideologies.

From the islamic perspective he is either a muslim, or an apostate of islam. His father was a muslim, and as per the koran all children inheret their fathers faith. Children in muslim mixed faith marriages are always muslim, as muslim women cannot marry non-muslim men.
