DUBAI (Reuters) - An al Qaeda leader has called for President George W. Bush and the Republicans to be "humiliated," without endorsing any party in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, according to a video posted on the Internet.

"O God, humiliate Bush and his party, O Lord of the Worlds, degrade and defy him," Abu Yahya al-Libi said at the end of sermon marking the Muslim feast of Eid al-Fitr, in a video posted on the Internet.

Libi, one of the top al Qaeda commanders believed to be living in Afghanistan or Pakistan, called for God's wrath to be brought against Bush equating him with past tyrants in history.

The remarks were the first comments from a leading al Qaeda figure referring, albeit indirectly, to the U.S. elections. Muslim clerics often end sermons by calling on God to guide and support Muslims and help defeat their enemies.

In 2004 al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden issued his first video in more than a year just days before the elections to deride President Bush and warn of possible new September 11-style attacks.

Bin Laden made little mention of Bush's Democratic challenger John Kerry, telling Americans: "Your security is not in the hands of Kerry or Bush or al Qaeda. Your security is in your own hands and each state which does not harm our security will remain safe."

Al-Q knows mccain will be more of the same.  Obama, on the other hand, says we're marching into pakistan and killing bin laden.

Good luck marching into Pakistan......we do that, as proposed by Obama and here's what happens.....Ur going need our entire 75th Ranger Regiment to drop on their nuke sites along with a Bde of the 82nd. Then u'll need Indian ground troops to hold those area's via air assualt and remove the weapons. Why..because once the nutbags who are already fighting a fairly successful insurgency against the woefully inept Paki army, are able to use the political juice any "boots on the ground" invasion would bring, the gov will topple and India and the rest of the world will not standby while 50 or so theather wide nukes fall into the hands of wack jobs. India will give about 10 min to seize these things or its bombs away. This is why we play the games we do with Pakistan, why we're doing more to hit the tribal areas, quietly, and why Obama is naive. Wolf Blitzer asked Repub strategist Ed Rollins about "What happen if an OBL tape surfaces" and Ed said "When you do something that late in a campaign it looks less believable"

More like u can sit on a tape that has to be vetted or u can make sure it gets pushed along...Politics dude. It would also depend on how OBL gets his info out. Some times he's mass media and some times we find tapes not ment for mass release. He never said they're fake.

Then Al Qaeda can simply bleed us out. There is nothing they would love more than for us to get involved in Iran, because this would be the final nail in the coffin. But you can't see this, HH6, because you have a John Wayne complex and cannot analyze the situation objectively. Essentially, you put party first. Those analysts believe that if bin Laden is not heard from, he runs the risk of being considered irrelevant or impotent. The U.S. intelligence community has some indication that there is some confusion among Islamic radicals about their leadership.


I hope he releases something....he pops his head up..we can find him. We just killed the #4 guy in all of AQ. If we can get #2, Bin laden becomes irrelevent and AQ is pretty much done.

Yep....I look like a train wreck.....max the push up within 1:30...thats 82 perfect army pushup. 
Depending how I feel about the run I'll either max or near max the sit-ups. If it looks like a bad run day....I do what i need to get about 80 points at my age groups sit-ups and then get on with it. I ran the USMC PT test better..I can't get into a flow with 2 miles.

I remember reading about this. Apparently a number of his top lieutenants thought he was dead as they hadn't seen him in so long. Right when they were talking about Zawahiri taking over the reins when he was in all those videos.

Was an article last week about all the pro AQ sites being severely hacked lately, which is apparently crippling their media arm, As Sahab or w/e it's called.

We're doing an excellant job of EW especially computer network attack....I'm going to take a 1 week CNA course in in Feb. Its a planning course...I won't be the guy hacking but I'll know what we can do, what we can't , what we need from a logistics point of view so the hackers can do their thing. That stuff falls under what I do.

I did 98 in 2 minutes many moons ago.  Maxed situps.  Could never max the run.  Didn't really want to anyway, because then you had to run with the fast group.   

Don't they do push-ups as part of the PT test in the Marines?

They got rid of the extended scale scoring so I don't do anymore then 82, its doing em quickly i work on a  bit.
