To gain 1 inch on your arm....you gotta put on 14lb
« on: October 30, 2008, 03:37:25 PM »
Rings true for me......all my best gains have come when i have made significant changes in bodyweight.

If your 170 with 14 inch guns now........and a year from now you still weigh around 170.......your still gonna have 14 inch guns

Feel like your results have slowed down? GAIN SOME WEIGHT

this is 100% true.  same with chest and legs too.  no way to grow if you don't add weight.

Sure it seems simple ...but..

its easy to get caught up in different training routines rather than focusing on eating big.

Big results come from big changes in weight

The question is more which rate of weight gain makes sense for optimal body composition.
But of course you must gain weight to gain size, that's simple physics.

are you inferruating that Flex Wheeler's claims of having 23 inch arms at 223 pounds are a tad bullshitish, big 'ol Boost?

Can be right, but it depends on what you train. One can have small chicken legs and have big arms. When I was 175-180, my arms were bigger than 14 inches, I mostly trained upper body as well. And it depends on body weight composition, if you are 170 and skinny fat, 170 and bulky, 170 and fat, and 170 and muscular, you might get diff measurements.

Too many people are afraid of losing their abs while bulking.
bulking gets a bad rep but i have made the biggest changes to my physique through bulking and cutting.
Trying to add weight slowly while maintaing the same bodyfat was useless for me.... the change in size is so gradual that its not at all motivating.

I need to see big changes to stay psyched.

I was under the impression that to gain 2 inches all you had to do was a few curls to get a pump.  There was a thread about that a while back.  I guess for the majority of GB's this is normal but it does not happen to me.   ???

That is a very serious statement you are making there Boost, and I really don't know if you have the physique to back it up.

I am basically sayin that dont expect your measurements to increase unless your bodyweight also significantly increases.

I am not really talking about bodyweight to arm size ratio, the 170 pounder with the 14 inch guns was just an example,,,,,,but yea flex's claims are bullshit considering a 300lb Ronnie had 22-23 max
