Halloween is at a record low in Europe. Parents probably don't want their kids to be Fritzl'd.

Seems like it's down all over the US too.  When I was a kid, it was a huge event that every kid participated in.  I wonder if less people do it now because of all the wackos out there.  It's too bad.

Maybe kids like dressing up as super heroes or action heroes? I know I did, halloween was fun. You hang out with your friends, go and get free candy and just run around the neighborhood. When you're a kid you don't think of the money or the net cost of halloween  ...

And btw, if you go to Walmart or any of those bulk stores the day after halloween, you can get like a years worth of candy for $50. Those big boxes are marked down to $1/box.

we used to play with bangers and fireworks when we were kids...so dangerous. We used to break off teh ooden bits on rockets, light it then run. No one knew what way it would go.

We also used to tie rockets together etc

Fire '8 shooters' at other people, do stupid things with bangers, 'proton bombs' etc.

I seemed to have less kids coming around this year.  All age groups...toddlers to teens.

My one kid is even commenting of the stinginess of candy givers "The Economy" she said.  She is 14.
