Lets see who gets closest.

Here is my senerio, tie and it goes to congress and McCain is selected and Palin is not.  Plenty of accusations of election fraud on election day and between the time congress selects McCain.  Huckabee is selected as VP by the senate.

(Note: this doesn't represent what I want to happen.)

How would such a scenario transpire?

If it went to congress, would it then not go to Obama?
Don't the Dems control congress?  I'm confooooosed! ???

yea, but each state gets only 1 vote, all the reps from one state have to chose how their 1 vote is cast, the candidate who gets 26 votes wins.  That means Wyoming has as much say as California.  Then for VP it goes to the Senate to decide.  I'm not totally sure on that part so maybe my huckabee guess isn't possible, I think it is but maybe I can be corrected on that.

ok, checked on the vp.  each senator gets one vote, it goes to who gets the most votes and from what I understand, they can vote for anybody.  So liebermann could be a dick or if it's split tied between two choices, maybe that means dick cheney picks the vp lol...  but libermann would be a dick and go with the republican pick.

According to Mr Melodramatic himself - Wolf Blitzer - the VP nominee becomes acting Prez - eg it wouldn't be Huck, would be Palin :o

it would also be the person the senate picks as VP if the house doesn't decide by a certain date.  That person would be acting president and it might not be Palin that gets picked.  They are under no obligation to pick McCain's VP choice or Obama's if it's a tie. and if nobody decides, it goes to Nancy Pelosi to be acting president lol.

Obama gets 400 electorates, and wins Arizona and even up in Montana.
Democrats will get 62 senators, filibuster proof. Liz Dole will lose et al.
