No there is some great country music, JOHNNY CASH BITCHES  problem is country has taken more of a rock approch and there are some good songs out there.
Im an old time rock freak rollin stones, zep, ac/dc, jethro tull/ iron maiden. you get the picture but if you are a music buff then you will give all music a chance..

NASHVILLE COUNTRY SUCKS-TRUE

Real country music (which is now called alternative country or ALT country) is massively influential and awesome.  artists like:

Johnny Cash
Waylon Jennings
Willie Nelson
Wilco
Ryan Adams
Jenny Lewis
Gram Parsons
Flying Burrito Brothers
Lucinda Williams
The Jayhawks
My Morning Jacket
Old 97's
Son Volt
Gillian Welch


Then you have guys who are on Nashville labels who fight the good, like brad paisley, and release something completely different.  Paisley's new album "Play," out today, contains 16 tracks, 10 of which are entirely instrumental. Thats completely unheard of but he gets away with it because he's one of the best guitar players in the world.

now, artists like:
kenny chesney
keith urban
faith hill
tim mcgraw
carrie underwood
shania twain
rascal flatts
big n rich

those artists all suck.  Its just pop music with country themed instrumentation (which I find insulting).  And they're now marketing it the same way hip hop is marketed.  They try to appeal to people who are stupid rednecks just like rap tries to appeal to stupid ghetto people.  Its a social reinforcer for their stupid lifestyles.
