Has the change in photo style warped our sense of conditioning?

That's a good point. I also think if you put some of the guys from 70's on a stage with the 00's lighting, they'd all look horribly out of shape as far as bodybuilders are concerned.

All lighting, angles and picture quality.
Flexonline pictures are awful, Muscletime's are much better.

Very interesting.

This is why graininess is not a (completely) valid reason to judge condition by, whereas separation shows in almost any light. In the shot above, Wheeler and Ray would have those lat and spinal erector striations and separation even under today's lighting conditions, as evident in the Silvio S.S. comparison.
