As with virtually all things in life it's a matter of degrees. If abused and over done everything is bad whether it be drugs, running, food, sleep ... hell, I remember that incident where someone died by drinking too much water in a water drinking contest.
It's a fact that hormone levels decrease with age along with vitality and strength. There is no question the difference a 55 year old feels when on HRT. Normal healthy young adults also can increase their strength and functional ability with the aid of hormones. This can also improve the quality of their life.
Like anything, when abused it becomes a bad thing. Just think how many lives are vastly improved simply with the judicious use of pain killers. If a person thinks that using advances in pharmacology to improve the quality of one's life a cheating so be it. Just get out of our way when we, well into our 50s and 60s, are shooting hoops and throwing the football and riding are bikes with our kids and grandkids.
