for me it means I have ups and downs and they can be extreme.  I have been so down that i have sat in a chair and not moved for 20 hours, slept for 2 days and just not cared.  When I say I dont function well in public---I cant process information the way you can.  When someone says something to you, I hear the same thing in a different perspective.  My brain twists words around and emotions and 90% of the time I end up in a confrontation because i have misconstrued what someone has said.  I also speak my thoughts A LOT, sometimes not on purpose, it just falls out.  I also have no comprehension of authority--to me there is no such thing as a boss and I dont respect the police or authority figures--not on purpose, its just how my brain twists things at times.  Sometimes its ok, sometimes its horrible.
