Is anyone online showing Calzaghe v Jones Jr?
« on: November 07, 2008, 06:27:38 PM »
I'm in the UK, and only Setanta are showing it, but to get Setanta you have to sign up for two months and pay a setup fee, which amounts to about £50 ($100?).  So I'm wondering if it's being shown live online anywhere?

You are in that much of a rush to see Calzaghe knocked the fuck out by a superior boxer and fisticuff master?

I'm not so sure, they are both past their best, but I think Calzaghe is gonna win this one.  KO in the second half of the fight I reckon.

Suprised its not on Sky,

I am not on the Calzaghe Bandwagon at all.
He wasn't impressive against hopkins.
I think Hatton, Khan and Joe are vastly overrated

David Haye is the future of British Boxing
Bulking up to Heavyweight as we speak

I getting increasingly pissed at Setanta cos they're getting more and more of the decent sporting events.  They've now got half of the Premiership from Sky, all of the UFC from Bravo, and about half of the decent boxing pay-per-views.  Sky have got Ricky Hatton's next fight in a couple of weeks, so I'll probably be buying that.

I'm interested to see how David Haye does at heavyweight.  If he can carry the weight without tiring, I think he'll be OK, but there are a lot of much bigger guys in the heavies.

I've got no time for Khan, I've always thought him to be over-rated, and I was over the moon when he got knocked on his arse.

Nobody looks good against Hopkins and Calzaghe is currently p4p#2, he isnt past his best.

Brittle Hands, a shallow division....plus he never wants to leave Wales!  :P
Its a shame his division isn't what it used to be in the 80's,
Thats why he can never go down as a legend

Im rooting for Joe but I feel Roy will win by decision
Joe dosent have the power to KO Roy or probably even hurt him for that matter, Joe was better at supermiddle weight

Calzaghe can do a lot of damage, especially if Jones stands back and lets him swing.  Jeff Lacy made the mistake of letting Joe work, and he got destroyed.  I reckon Jones will fade quickly in the latter half of the fight, and Calzaghe will put him down.

Agreed on all accounts. Too lazy to watch it whenever it's on though... I'll just find a torrent later and check it out.

Calzaghe admits that he didn't hurt Hopkins when they fought and he barely won that on decision. Roy Jones while not in his prime is still world class. Roy Jones also has a knockout punch. It shall be interesting. I'm going with Jones only because Hopkins fought both of them and is behind Roy on this one.

You don't watch the sport. Roy Jones is a washed up fighter. Besides that flash knock down in the first round with Hopkins/Calzaghe. No one has or ever will again make Hopkins look silly. Roy Jones has a glass jaw. He's lost the eye of the tiger long ago. The only way he has a chance is if Calzaghe takes the bait with Roy's show boating. Jones is going to bait him with it all night. If Calzaghe isn't p4p? Who is? Don't even say Mayweather.

Ive been watching the sport for 5 years.
Tarver and Glen Johnson were big punchers while Joe Calzaghe isnt, hes turned into a volume puncher due of his fragile hands.
If you watched the Trinindad-Jones fight you would know that Jones still has his speed of old but his reflexs are almost shot.
Roy cant stand against the ropes covering up, if he does that he will lose by tko or most likely by decision.

Pacquioa is p4p 1 atm

Calzaghe by TKO, second half of the fight.

Jones Jr. just doesn't have it anymore.

Calzaghe by unanimous decision.  Wasn't even a close fight.  Calzaghe got knocked down in the first, then dominated the next 11 rounds.  Roy Jones is officially finished.

The fight was so one sided it wasnt true - Jones is finished, guy was the best but Joe just dominated him

No marquee value in a rematch

Except this time he was the superior boxer and fisticuff master ;D
Who would have thought Jones would have been given a boxing lesson?
