Metformin sounds promising on paper and when I found a source that had it super cheap, I got extremely excited. But then for kicks, I decided to look at some anecdotal feedback (which is few and far between) and no one jumps for joy over this stuff. Lots of nausea and bullshit like that... seems great on paper, but in real life it's not so great. Sorry to be a Debbie downer.

I used a supplement called Anabolic Pump by USPLabs... well, their advertising campaign is absolute bullshit (they say their new product is as potent as deca or dbol or something), but Anabolic Pump works. It raises glut-4 which helps to shuttle nutrients independent from insulin. So it's not like spiking your insulin excessively to shuttle carbs and nutrients. I found it to really help with my body composition. Even afterward I kept leaning out so I think my insulin sensitivity improved. Used it for almost a year straight and it stopped working. I got a great deal on it and the owner sent a couple bottles too. After that I took a break for a while, bought a couple more bottles and it was all right. Worked great the first time.

It's been a while since I've used it just because of the cost. If it were half the price online retailers sell it for, I would honestly make it a staple supplement. I'm just gonna hold out and see if bb.com or Nutraplanet.com ever have a good sale on it. If they do, I'll scoop up a few more bottles. For a natural supplement that doesn't fuck up your liver, lipid profile, make your joints hurt, bloat you, etc, it's pretty friggen' good. It's just the price that's retarded. I liked it when I got it super cheap. :D

um, well what metformin (glucophage) does is not really 100% known. one of the known mechanisms is that it slows down glucose absorbtion in the gut.  im not so sure it actually has any 'insulin sensitizing' effects at the level of the insulin reeptor, but more so it helps improve the sensitivty by not allowing glocuse to enter the bloodtsream at such a rate that would result in elevated insulin levels. thus increasing insulin sensitivity.

Milos told me not to use it, ever, for any reason.  Just stick to insulin.
