Obama press conference - your thoughts
« on: November 08, 2008, 12:35:15 PM »
What's your opinions on Obama's press conference?
I'm refering to the actual content.
I was pleased to hear that he's already planning to launch a plan that will stimulate the economy.
The focus on economy in general was IMO much welcomed and needed.
Feels good that he's got a big board of advisors, from all spectrums.
The advisors on economy seems if anything non-partisan.
Any thoughts?

He's going to need all those advisiors because he never ran anything in he life, so IMO he can't run this country. His Health Care plane will not work you will be waiting 6 months to see a Doctor, and he's going to tax the rich and give money to those who don't pay taxes you know spread the wealth. So now big busniess will lay off people because they can't afford their tax increases. It's socalisum all the way.
Listen to how he talks, he can't get the answers out fast enough he studders. ah eh well eh or just avoid the question all together, not saying Mc Cain was better (he was) but he had answers and was quick to answer them.

AMERICA is going down hard with this one, people believe anything don't they.
Hey at least Sara Palin is his VP that's why i voted for obama lol. stupid people did't even know who his VP was and do you know why?? Because Their STUPID and they don't know one thing that he stands for.
You can say all you want to me. Don't care! You're Going down, all the way down ha! ha! suckers.

Most small businesses would close or lay off many people if his tax and health care plans went into affect.  Owners could not afford to insure that many people.  Also, the price of many goods and services will go up.  Gas and oil are down right now.  If he cuts the tax breaks to the oil companies they have already said the cost would be transferred to the consumer, i.e. higher gas prices.  They get their money one way or another.

Obama is weak, a modern day Chamberlain. Everyone wanted him to become the President now lets see how they like it when shit starts falling apart.

I hope Obama has picked out a nice dress, bra and panties to wear to meet with medvedev/putin.

If he gonna be Russia's bitch he should dress the part.

None of these people realize what the fuck has just happened. People all over the world are regarding this man as some sort of messiah. Its ludicrous! The last time people were talking like that the world was changed forever. This man was also a socialists who used a scapegoat to weasel his way into power and no one realized it til it was to late. His name was adolf hitler, he used the jews to blame germany's depression. Obama used the bush administration. I'm not saying that he will cause a world-wide holocaust but do the research for yourself, the similarities are striking.

very vague press conference, but good to see a unified team this early.  way ahead of clinton or bush in cabinet assembly.

obama is a yes-man/ robot/ puppet for the liberal machine. He does not think on his own or have any plans or ideas of his own. If he does he will only do them if his leaders tell him it's ok. He has always done what his party states and never challenges anything.
America always gets what it asks for, so here ya go. The fact of the matter is this country is greatly divided by this whole thing. Obama won by a narrow margin, 52%. Those that voted for him are in for a rude awakening.
While George Bush was not the best leader and has cost this country dearly in a few areas, to vote for "change" not knowing what that "change" is, is down right scary.  The Germans did the same thing with Hitler.
Too many people in this country want to be taken care of instead of being self sustained. Too many people in this country are lazy and, want others to do for them. Too many people in this country wish for us to be like Europe. Our forefathers left Europe for  good reason, to get as far away from governmant tyranny and, control as possible. To build a nation of independant free thinkings and builders. The people who built this country did so without all the whinning and crying that a lot of people do today. Our lives are very easy today. We have all the modern toys that 100 years ago would be un- emaginable. Yet people still say life is too hard.
I wish for an America filled with independant hardworking people who only ask for the opportunity to do so. Not ask for the rewards without the work. Not ask others to give to them because they are deemed to have enough or too much. When the government gets involved in business and regulates it, the profit goes down and, so does the motivation to do better. Those of you who wish for government control on health care.......it would only make it worse. Doctors are well educated smart hard working people who, will not stand for the government telling them how to do their work and regulate their pay. They instead will simply get out of the medicine field and, move onto something else. There will also be less people motivated to got to college for 9 years to be a doctor if the governmant is regulating medicine. The healthcare system is a mess right now, yet the government will only make it worse.
I really feel that obama is nothing more than a tool for socialists in this country whom have been trying to tear the fundamental core values of this country apart. I only hope people wake up before its too late.

bama won by a narrow margin, 52%.

Obama got 52% of the vote, McCain 46%- an 8 million vote difference. Not exactly narrow.

People in this thread are acting like the bush years didn't happen. Obama could spend the next 8 years working with NASA to come up with a way to cause the earth to spin off its axis and collide with the sun and he wouldstill be only a slightly worse president than W.

But what do you think about the press conference?

I think he spoke a lot about how stressed the economy is, all of the things we already know. I did not get the affirmation that he really knows how to fix anything however. To be quite truthfull though.......no one man President can fix this economy. It is something that is going to take work from all aspects of the countries resourses. Allow business to grow, not tax it or regulate it.
I will say this, if obama and his "team" do kick ass and effect change for the better then I will be the first to congradulate and state so. I really hope he can make change for the better, we really need it. I just do not see how a socialist can effect good change to our country though. We will see.

% wise this is a narrow victory. The math states so. He won yes, but by a narrow margin. He was and is not as popular as the media made him out to be. This is a fact.

Yeah, there's really no way his victory can be defined as narrow. It's pretty decisive.

They'll have a hard time arguing it after calling Bush's 2004 election a mandate.  Bushies never think ahead lol...

The Bush victories where very narrow indeed. My point was that of the media being wrong about obama's popularity.

R u retarded? he won by a large margin!  got close to 53% of the vote, won red states that have been red for 70 years ie IN.  He won big!  1-2% is a narrow win, 6% is a huge win.  Just think 10,000,000 more people picked Obama over mcbush.

Just Imagine if Sarah Palin was at that press conference instead of Obama :-X  She could have been the president, just thank God she didnt make.  And yes Sarah will run in 2012, but she will lose just as bad as mcbush did to Obama again in 2012.

cool avatar,

for a guy that was painted as a terrorist buddy, socialist, marxist and with the name Barack Hussein Obama and is black, I would have to say he exceeded expectations by quite a bit.
