Yes, my old school took some of us to a WWF match as a reward for something that I can't remember. Well, Andre was hanging around the entrance to the arena, some kids saw him and badgered him into coming over for a second. He was brusque, but nice enough.

He was comically huge, the one thing that stands out in my mind was the size of his hands, he rested a hand on a fellow's shoulder, and it looked like a bunch of bananas.

One time when Andre where at a pub drinking these guys wanted to armwrestle him but ANdre only wanted to be left alone..

Anyway they kept on bugging him and bugging him..
So after a while andre left the bar, went outside, spotted their car, flipped it upside down and left.

Then the police came and they didnt believe the guys when they said a "giant flipped over their car" lol.

Well it went almost like that, from the documentary =)

Couple of good tales about andre i ve heard

Theres some classic tale of him rolling into his hotel in teh early hours drunk mortal and falling asleep in teh foyer. When the staff went to await him he was out cold and obviously moving him was out of the question so they took the sheet used to cover the piano in the lounge, draped it over him and placed a "please walk around" sign in front of him, lol.

Then the one hogan recounts when its was andres b day and they were touring japan on a coach. Hogan bough him a case of six bottles of wine as a present and according to hogan, an hr later the bus stopped. Hogan thought it was strange as they had miles to go but it was because andre needed a piss after drinking all SIX bottles!

According to hogan andre wrestled that night as if he'd been drinking water all day.

"Back in 1979, my mom worked at a hotel as a receptionist where all the wrestlers stayed when they came into town to wrestle. This one day Andre the Giant came up to the desk to sign himself in and my mom commented on his necklace. It was gold and silver with his name on it and it made a choker on him bless his heart. My mom said to him "What a cool necklace!" Andre replied as he started taking the necklace off, "Here, you can have it. You want it?" Well my mom hurriedly shook her head no and gave her word of thanks. It was about 3 months later when Andre was back in town for another match. Upon his visit, he approached her and reached into his pocket as said with a big grin "This is for you," then handed her a bracelet that looked exactly like his necklace only with her name on it. She told me he put it on her any everything. She gave the bracelet to me as I am a huge Andre fan. She said he was really sweet and he was a true gentleman. He did not forget the good comments and the good people. His heart was just simply too big for his body.... RIP Andre. We miss you!

I used to work for Capitol wrestling and one night at Nassau Colesium in NY i was approched by a gentleman telling me his 8 yr old son was nearly blind and wanted to meet a wrestler. I took the child backstage and standoing there was Andre. He called the young boy over to him, gave him autographic, picked him up in the air, played with him for 5 mins. Needless to say yhis little boy was in his glory. Not only was Andre big in size, but his heart was bigger than his body. He loved people. ~Fred

I met him when he was in his NWA days. I used to see him in town because my dad was friends with Johnny Walker who was Mr Wrestling 2 and Andre often traveled around with 2 at times.
