Yep. You GOTTA be careful what you take. Lots of cold meds are MAOI inhibitors. Some Anti-biotics with ephedrine can stop heart. caffeine, excedrine, sudafed, anti-depressants, and SSRI inhibitors - you can't mix these things. Many people live on ephedrine like it's nothing, and when they add in a medicine, they get into trouble.

I had a friend who had a stroke in her 20's. She was washing dishes and the next thing she knew there was a bunch of broken glass on the floor.

She never took any type of drugs other than over the counter and regular recreational. Apparently she had a "hole in her heart" or something along those lines.
