Yeah sitting in an office doesn't compare to working 7am to 7pm, inhaling fumes, painting rooms, no health coverage or benefits, paid vacation and sickdays...what was I thinking ? Graduating college is overrated too. 

You make a valid point JJ, but don't put your fate completely in the hands of an employer.  Their job is to pay you as little as they can (benefits too) while squeezing as much production out of you as possible.

there's something to be said for manual labor... you appreciate it later when you have a cozier position, and you value every dollar.

During college I did landscaping in the summer in FL... drinking piss warm gatorade/water mix all day while chopping down rat/roach filled trees and digging holes all day on Sanibel...

By the time fall rolled around and I could work (as a substitute teacher) again, I was SO grateful to be back inside.
