U.S. Attorney General Mukasey Alert After Collapse Nov. 21 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey is ``very active, very alert'' following a fainting spell that caused him to collapse while giving a speech last night in Washington, a spokeswoman said.
Mukasey, 67, who spent the night at George Washington University Hospital, is undergoing routine tests, Justice Department spokeswoman Gina Talamona told reporters. ``There's no indication that he suffered a stroke or any heart-related incident,'' she said. ``It really appears to be a fainting spell.''
He is ``really ready to leave'' the hospital as soon as the tests are completed, she said. ``Doctors have described him as fit.''
