not too many bodybuilders have that sort of separation in the back, I can even see the separation between the teres major and minor

If you had 20lbs more muscle at that level of detail you would have become a professional, no?

that was a long time ago. i don't know what i coulda done to turn pro. i think one thing i did wrong was never competing at the nationals two years in a row. i think you have to be on the judges mind from the year before.
after 1991 i only competed every 2-5 years.

Putnam's back is just flat out embarrasing. You couldn't win some state shows with that back. How he gets so much hype is beyond me.

And he has that marhsmallow conditioning to go along with that pathetic back.

I just don't understand this guy's logic. Would you be proud to show up looking like hammered crap, the worst you've looked in years for a show, and accept a pro card just because the rest of the field looks like crap, too? He's WAY off. Embarassingly smooth and off.

After his loss last year, where he was closer to 3rd than first, the guy said he was going to come back the next year improved but stay in the same weight class. He was right at the cutoff for that class in weight. So let's get this straight: Your BF is around 2.5-3% for that show (his 2007 show) and you are right at the cutoff limit yet you planned on coming back this year IMPROVED? How so? You weren't going to be able to put any size on your non-existent back unless you put on weight. Period. Fear of moving up to the heavyweight class caused this guy to regress. When you enter into anything scared of competition/not being in yourself, well, who's the real winner?

Anyway, this guy's nickname should be "The Gift" if he gets his card. Screw Phil Heath. His "Gift" is of a different kind, though....

there's a video clip of him training back...and it seems like he loves using machines. You know, the opposite of what has built great backs of the past
