Your back development at age 24?  What is that, your claim to fame?  If you did it naturally, i'd say impressive... but your not, so I wouldn't brag because it came a lot easier for you.  Not what i'd call impressive.

Firstly, you are making this way too personal.  I don't even know Putnum and everyone says he's a nice guy.  My opinion is simply an objective one.  Secondly, I am willing to bet that I used way less back in 1995 in little old Zimbabwe to get ready for my show than Putnum is using today?  When did Putnum ever claim to be natural????

Here is me (at 24) and 198lbs.  I can scan a few more of me doing a lat spread if you want ...but that will just make my point even more relevant?

Unless you have competed you really have no idea how the NPC judging is all screwed up. NO consistency whats so ever.

Peter has busted his butt for the last 4 years trying to turn pro, I am happy he finally got his card. I do wish however he would have actually HAD competition in his class, I am sure he does too.  It would have been a better show at nats for sure.  The LHW class is usually one of the best.

For those of you who do not like Peter, his turning pro this past weekend is actually a GOOD thing.  Now he has to compete with the top guys in the 202 class, of which he will be annihilated!  Peter will get better, but his genetics are very limited when compared with D Henry, J Lewis, L Priest and others.  He can officially call himself a pro bodybuilder, but his days of getting major exposure will go down the crapper after he competes in his first contest and gets his ASS handed to him.  

For smaller bodybuilders like Peter, turning pro is the road to anonymity.

The open class really seperates the men from the boys, and sadly for Peter, He will be forever be a boy in terms of quality of physique

i remember watching Grant as he was a top amateur. A few cover shots if i remember? one for sure with IronMan.

i agree with his confusion over how bad some of the top placers looked at this show. to get a pro-card in the nineties a guy had to be shredded and with great structure. things do seem to have changed.

Grant makes a good point and not sure if he even realizes it. Years ago guy took less drugs so guys like Grant for example who had good genetics IE good muscle structure and shape and yes to some degree response to anabolics looked awesome on few anabolics. Today you see a lot of guys who are on stage with bad genetics, but take a lot of drugs who should not be bbers. If they took the same stuff these guys took back in the 80's and 90's they would not be able to compete. These guys are basically forcing their bad genetics with larger doses and different kinds of drugs that the guys from years ago did not even use. So today almost anyone can step on stage as long as they take enough drugs. Also, some of these guys who you see each year that do not seem to be growing are great examples of guys how are maxed out on muscle due to their bad genetics, not because they are natural or just not taking enough.

It wasn't that difficult a decision to make actually.  I was on the brink of turning Pro ... but wasn't happy about the "risk" factors involved to get there.  I was single and not dating ... so I ended up making the best decision for me financially at that time .... even if some may judge me morally.  The opportunity was there and I took it.
