I am in no way defending Michael, Locket because I havent talked to Micheal as of yet why he didnt compete at nationals.I am just guessing why he didnt show up at Nationals to compete.Michael Locket is an amazing athlete, and has incredable genetics.I talked to him for several hours at the Mr Olympia, and he really was concerned about not being big enough or even good enough to compete against the guys at nationals.He kept saying John do you think I am big enough, or good enough to compete at Nationals.I kept reassuring him that he looked great and would do really good at Nationals.He kept saying I am natural, and those guys are huge, they are alot bigger then me.I would then say Michael, you have amazing genetics, and you look great, you will do really good.Michael is a real humble guy, and really doesnt know how good he really is.Plus he does sufffer from Depression, something he was born with.If he hopped on the juice this guy would be Mr Olympia.
Anyways this has been a really tough year for Michael Lockett, just 4-5 months ago he moved to Las Vegas, with his girlfriend so they could start a life together.She left him with no clothes, no money, and no place to go.Thats when I met Michale, and helped him out.The girl took him for a ride.He had over $25,000 in his account, and she took it all.So he was stranded in Las Vegas, with no food, no clothes, and no place to live.Talk about having bad luck, imagine being in love with a girl, and she not only breaks your heart, but takes everything you got, and leaves you in a city, 2000 miles from your home.
What I did, was I got him a place to live, got him food, and helped him get back on his feet.Then I bought him a plane ticket home, so he could get back to his family in Ohio.
When I last talked to Michael he was doing well MD was going to endorse him, and he was going to buy my company out of the contract we had with him because GNC  wanted to endorse him.I am going to call Michale today, and find out exactly why he didnt show up at Nationals to compete.So I can give everyone the real reason he didnt show up.My guess, is he probably was intimidated by the competition, and didnt think he could win.Or something happened, because he has had bad luck this year.Michael Locket is an amazing guy, and a great athlete, and I am glad to have gotten the oppurtunity to get to know him.He is truly a man with strong religiouis conviction, and genetic freak like no other.

If Mike can't get his shit together, that's fine - it just means he didn't belong in the first place.  This game isn't just about having great genetics or good potential, it's about putting together an entire PACKAGE.  There are many factors that comprise a top flight bodybuilder, and it sounds as if Mike isn't at a place where he can make a real run at it.  And you know what?  This is probably a good thing, considering the fact his personal life is in disarray.  It appears as if he needs to get his personal life back on track, then worry about getting back on stage and trying to get a pro card. 

This story symbolizes the age old problem curtailing many promising talents - problems in one's personal life.  If you can't get your shit together with relationships, you aren't much good to anyone (most importantly, yourself).
