I weigh around 200 and struggle on some planes. A slightly bigger person being comfortably confined to one seat and not imposing upon a neighbor is pretty hard to believe.

Airlines would rather pay for a free ticket (if someone gets annoyed enough to complain) than litigate with people who are 'big boned' or have 'thyroid problems'.

I hope you are joking.  I have flown coach at 300 no problem at all.  The guy next to me probably hated that my shoulders are always in the way.  I usually always fly aisle.  I fly 1st class as much as possible especially now.  But, back in the 90's I got free upgrades anyway.  Nasser, Kazmaier, Quincy Taylor and many other friends and other big guys fly coach.  If you are just over 200 and struggle then your body must be really odd shaped.  Cause I highly doubt you are anywhere the size of these guys.  If I had to fly coach I did try as much as possible to find an open seat just so I could lay down or sprall out.

Just broad shoulders, definitely not huge. I try getting emergency seating due to being tall.
