Yes, I would def. buy those and freeze the ones I didn't eat w/in a few days.

I get a big bag of frozen ones at a warehouse club and let them thaw after sprinkling splenda or drizzling honey on them.

"When looking for strawberry nutrition facts, you'll find that nothing packs a bigger nutritional punch than this little berry.

Prized in ancient Rome for their medicinal uses, strawberries are recognized as having more vitamin C than some citrus fruits. They are also high in fiber, folate, potassium and antioxidants, making them a natural means of reducing the chances of heart disease, high blood pressure and certain cancers.

With only 55 calories per one cup serving, and containing 140% of the recommended daily dose of vitamin C for children, it makes sense to add this fruit to your daily menus.

The fact that strawberries are available year round, offers you the perfect opportunity to add great taste and nutrition to your everyday meals. Research shows that 94% of Americans currently consume strawberries and it is strongly suggested that eating them more often will add to a person's overall long term health.

I like cold fruit, but as for strawberries, i had such a bad experience that i will never eat them cold again. 3 weeks ago i put them in the freezer, for like 1 hour, then ate them. The next day in the morning my stomach was pretty huge, like full of gas..and same day in the afternoon i was puking and feeling like crap. Didnt eat anything before it that could've been bad, so it was that, no doubt. This lasted almost 36 hours....
Thank you for the recipes's site, im gonna take a look.

They go good in my shakes.

please dont talk about your worldwide known semen shakes, ricardo. :)

They are one of the most nutrient dense, low calorie fruits out there!  Very high in fiber too.

Stock up now and freeze.  Wash and hull. Dry on paper towel, then put on a cookie sheet in a single layer and freeze for about an hour.  Then put them into individual serving size freezer bags.  Perfect (frozen) for smoothies when they're out of season.

BTW~ where are they currently in season?

I don't think it was from the strawberries being frozen.  There must've been some other reason like e coli or something.

I'm saying that it likely was not the fact that the strawberry was frozen, but that it was somehow otherwise tainted.  Strawberries are VERY susceptible to that.

As far as getting it straight from the field, I would definiately recommend it.

Can be alot of fun to go with family members or friends and just hang out and talk while picking strawberries.

Not a huge fan of them myself but ocassionaly will put them in my breakfast to change things up a bit.
