What happened to the days when..

everyone just went the gym and did the heaviest weights they could reasonably do? Nowadays we have these personal trainers trying to make it out like they have the exact scientific formula for getting big and that if you just do the old fashioned way (actually putting some effort into it yourself) then you will end up with less gains.
Are these guys just trying to create a market for something useless because they couldn't handle the real job market or am i wrong here?

most personal trainers dont know where they talk about. at our gym the only one who is worth listening to is the owner.

Getting them in shape would be bad business in terms of retaining customers. The level of intensity in most gyms i've seen recently approaches that of a library.

Why do schmoes even pay for personal training..

Just the equivalent of just flushing your $$$ down the toilet..

One guy I see in the gym w/ a personal trainer, always has this look on his face, non-motivated, and the "why am i here" face.

Yet he puts down hundreds of dollars per week and he still looks like shit :(
