I always weigh myself in the gym once a week, mostly on a monday because this is the first trainingsday of the week. In another gym I used to go to they had one of those old scales you have to adjust yourself. The first time I weighed myself there one of the regular gymrats there thought he was funny and put his feet on the machine so i would think i was heavier. then i realised it wasnt ok and turned my head, i saw these 3 guys, one was bald and short, the other two were rather tall, they were laughing at me, and at the same time 2 housewifes behind them started laughing too, so I feel the blood rushing to my head and jump at the dude who was closest to me, i immediately grabbed his throat and said "so you think thats funny
" he looked scared and the other 2 walk up to me to and say hey leave him alone it was just a joke, so i wanted to attack them, but the gymowner already came in between and i thought no its not worth it to go to jail for and left the gym. but i was so fucking angry these guys thinking they could take advantage of a new guy, well then they are wrong with me, because i dont accept that shit.
how many times do you guys weigh yourself in the gym?
Funny story.
But, don't weigh yourself; it means nothing, as the water you are holding may simply fluctuate, causing your weight to fluctuate as well. You won't know for sure whether you've gained/lost fat, water or muscle.
Do a monthly BMI. That will tell you what you really want to know. Hydro is even better. Most chiropractors will let you do it for like $10 per test. Considering the amount of work you're putting into the gym, I'd say that's worth knowing 1)whether it's working, and 2) to what degree it is working. You can buy an accurate machine for a few thousand. Many gyms let you do it for free if you're a member and they have the equipment.
They SHOULD have the equipment, but usually dodge it, because if members get tested regularly they fear that may actually prove their training
isn't working!
