Still publicizes all things you might want to hold private. You're a model, so it's natural for you to put your image out there. You have to sell that image...I get it.

What about the guy who works nine to five in the accouting department at Macy's head office. Does he want to be "out there"? Would his remarks on his myspace page (or someone else's), offend Mary Smith in sales to the point of a covert complaint to HR? Then, our accountant friend finds himself on the outside looking in.

In today's economy, employers need to downsize. Why make their job easy by exposing every single facet of your private life for them? You almost force their hand to do something.

point well taken

see, i'm speaking for myself and I have been "self employed" for most of my adult life so i've never had to worry about what a employer thinks.

also, I have little/no shame (which is a given in some of the work I have to do)

Obviously this is fake. The dude doing the intro is Deaner from FUBAR. He's a Canadian actor.

I honestly don't understand why people have a Myspace page. That stuff is personal, and you know your employer (or potential employer) is going to check it out. It wouldn't take much to turn an employer off. A curse word...a strange pic...anything. Maybe it's just a pic of you having a beer with friends, but they see that, and all of a sudden, the employer tells HR "don't hire him -- he's got a drinking problem".

Why put your life on display to let people take advantage of you? The ultimate in vanity trumping common sense and reason.

Set that shit to private and you have nothing to worry about.  Unless you're one of these douches who sets their profile to private but then adds every fucking person who sends them a friend request.  Kind of defeats the point.
