the 2 best coaches in the Nation face off Saturday in Atlanta. I absolutely loathe UF and don't really care much for Bama but they by far have the best coaches. Unfortunately, my team has a soft ass coach who will remain loyal to a horrible Defensive Coordinator. Our Defense is the most undisciplined D in the nation.

Ga Tech has a pretty solid coach, too.

Absolutely...the numbers don't lie!  ;)

"PETE CARROLL
USC HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

Energetic and charismatic eighth-year USC head football coach Pete Carroll has returned the Trojan football program to national prominence.

He is 76-14 (84.4%) in 7 years (2001-2007) as a college head coach (all at USC), the best winning percentage of any current Division I coach with at least 5 years of experience. He reached 50 career USC wins faster than any head coach in Trojan history. His losses have been by a total of 59 points (4.2 average) and only 1 was by more than a touchdown (it was by 11 points). After starting off his Trojan career 2-5, he has gone 74-9 (89.2%) with a pair of national championships (2003-04). He is 49-9 in Pac-10 games, giving him an 84.5% winning mark (a league record). I respectfully disagree. Pete doesn't coach in the strongest conference in the nation. It is  bit easier to look good in a pansy league.

I love how this is ALWAYS the argument against SC...that's fine, and that's why the BCS desperately needs a playoff system.

Look at the records, USC DOESN'T LOSE BIG GAMES (it's the little ones we have a problem with :) )

No, they only lose to teams like Oregan State who they should pummel.

but we all know that was a oversight on USC's part. We all can name upset games. Its just a fucked up thing
What about when zook was the coach of UF and they lost To Miss state. Or the App State over michigan shit. the prob with USC is they get up for big out of conference games...

Yeah, I totally agree. But USC just has a habit of doing this, losing to teams they should beat. They are still a great team, but need to get over that hump. The Pac-10 does them no favors when they do lose a game. They pretty much have to go undefeated to get to the BCS Title Game.

Bottom line, Texas got hosed.  Maybe Mizzou will pull off a miracle over OU, and UT will still get a shot.

Pac-10 fans just don't get it. Playing teams like WSU, Washington, Stanford, Arizona, Cal week in and week out is a bit different than playing teams like UF, Bama, LSU, UGA, SC week in and week out. 5 current SEC coaches have national championships.
