Bob, you are totally right about this. I finally got my card last year, laminated it and put it on my desk to see everyday.  I am proud to be an IFBB Pro and even though I did not compete last year and probably not next year I know in my heart that I finally got to the pro ranks.  There are tons of bodybuilders out there busting ass everyday trying to achieve this goal....I am very fortunate to have one.

Yes, i do. What's so gay about that? Have you accomplished anything in your life?

I think there are plenty of people on this board that realize what an achievement it is to earn an IFBB Pro Card.  I'm not a competitive bodybuilder but I definitely have a love for the sport. Anyone that can earn and IFBB Pro Card has effectively separated themselves from the millions of men and women around the world who do what we do.  To be a professional athlete in any sport means you are elite among your peers. This would be obvious to anyone who who has ever trained, sacrificed and dedicated themselves to being the best in any sport. If it's not then you're probably waisting your time even discussing it with those type of people.  Yeah they can sit back and talk about the drugs, and sacrificing health and blah, blah, blah.  I see that as an excuse they use because they know they could never achieve what you have.

I wouldn't want any of my friends to jump out of an airplane, either...but they do it by their own choice. Would you want any one  you care about to play in the NFL? or be a firefighter?

P.s.-  whats the difference if YOU consider it a sport or not?

The difference is that misinformed people believe it constitutes a sport. Is Bezique a sport?

It is also illegal and dangerous to take the disgusting amount of drugs they do.

A firefighter saves lifes...Bodybuilders kill people...Titus, Bertil Fox, Chris Benoit, Dave Jacobs et al.

So Titus and Bertil Fox are innocent men?

How about you inform me then? What did your moderate and safe steroid cycles look like?

It should be obvious to any regular Getbigger where the irony is here, but I'll point it out anyway.

You claim BBing isn't a sport - it's a beauty pagaent, and you basically downgrade it to a worthless activity. You state that bodybuilders kill people. Yet, you competed in the Mr. GetBig (a bodybuilding contest) not one month ago and sing the praises of various bodybuilders who also competed in that contest.

Having an IFBB Pro Card is good for the people who dream of being a pro.  My problem is that having it and being a pro brings no perks with it.  All it does is permit you to enter a Pro contest.  Other than that it does nothing.  Having a Sag card gives you alot of perks.  Not only does it guarantee you getting paid a very good income when you work, it protects you when you don't get paid or have a problem when you are working.  It guarantees you a $1 million insurance policy if you get killed on the set. Maybe more now.  It gives you a real voice in the union.  Just like having a union card for other industries.  Having a card when you play pro baseball, football, basketball or other sports gives you something.  It has a value.  Being a member guarantees you will make a certain amount of money.  It is nice to have an IFBB Pro Card if that has been your goal.  But in all honesty you can make as much being an amatuer BB than a pro just from sponsorships.  If you market yourself right yu can easily make alot of money being an amateur
