Let's see...

  • 20-25hrs a week spent in the gym/cardio/driving to that 'gym'
  • countless hours cooking shit (I don't get this one)
  • Devoted posting on getbig
  • Getting eyebrows done to look good when attending local shows
  • ~200$/month on "supplements"
  • ~300-500$/month on drugs
  • ~100$/month on Otomix and other senseless 'bodybuilding' clothing (oh brother)
  • 200-300$ spend on "gurus" of all kinds

Another way to use all this free time and resources:

Get an MBA (5-10hrs a week part time!)
Work on a business plan, Develop a new product
Put extra time at work, get ahead and get promoted
Research and Invest (real estate, stock market...)
Tutor your kids or mentor one through big brother program
Teach at your local community college
Buy a camera and schmoe every other weekend of the year at bb shows and get paid doing it...

The list is endless...

Great post. However, you have to remember that a lot of these guys are called "meat heads" for a reason. It's not just a nickname. They really are dumb.  :-\

its ironic that bodybuilders say that bodybuilding is a hard life compounded with lonliness yet most of these same people would never reinvest their time to pursue more realistic monetary goals.
I guess they are taking the easy way out after all

Another self-congratulatory thread by Alex. We get it, bodybuilders are fools.

But... you don't have to be a psychologist to see you'd want nothing more than to be a successful bodybuilder (and being able to post a well-lit full-body pic and be congratulated for looking great). These threads are just a way for you to justify not committing to trying the "bodybuilding thing". I mean, you did hire a prep coach, did you not, and then you were "too busy moving" and backed out of the show.

Dude you are weird, some days you seem to like bodybuilding, and other days you seem to hate it...........

He loves bodybuilding but just can't commit for some reason, some fear of failing I think.

This is actually a great thread.   There are alot of things most guys could be doing that are much more productive than chasing the lofty dream of one day becoming a pro bodybuilder.

like so many members who attempted to portray themselves as e-stars (so many of em i cant even count) our resident french fatty is figuring that bragging about your life on the internet isnt going to make it better, wahtever the efforts you put in.

Yes alex, you're just an human, like us all.

You just happen to be an attention whore with 0 humility , like many, wathever you say or do.

You're a pure product of this degenerate society you spend your time criticizing, and you think you're original doing so.

Agreed. I've been training for 15 years now and it's pretty damn obvious that I'll never become a pro bodybuilder. Hell, I'm 31 years old and I'm set to compete in my very first contest next September - it's taken THAT long to get to an acceptable standard.

But the good thing is that I have a good job, a nice wife and a nice home and those things come first and I would never take them for granted. Bodybuilding just happens to be a hobby that I happen to take very seriously because it is important to me. I couldn't care less if I spend some of my hard earned money on supplements and drugs - it's mine to do what I want with it - at least the bills get paid first.

some people lift because they enjoy doing it cause it makes em feel better, not because they aim to become "bodybuilders"...

Again, lifting weights should only be regarded as a healthy activity like any other sport and nothing else.

It's important to you because it makes you feel good. Psychologically and physically. As long as it makes you feel good and is healthy,as long as i doenst hurt anyone, there s no problem about being addicted to it.

It's when its getting borderline obsessional and destructive , when you put everything else aside to focus on it that you can say it's an abnormal activity.

It's like any other hobbies... people painting, collectioning stuff etc as long as  you don't take it too seriously and dont make it obsesional cause you try to find  a way out your real life difficulties, it's ok.

Imo it's even better than other hobbies cause it improves health. But i dont get why a very wide margin of people who lift wights are assholes and think they are gods etc, who become ridiculously narcistic and egocentrical about it. That's the big big trap about wieghtlifting 99'9% fall in.

Good posts. Alex's posts are nothing but bragging. Everyone should think about what's worthwhile in life. But this is not about that. And the funny thing is that, more often than not, he's usually the most guilty of the things he belittles others about.

I have no intention of ever doing a bbuilding comp. yes might do the GB4. But not a real one.

It is my hobby. And i have trained 4 years. I am now glad that i have gotten the obsession etc out of my system so that i can concentrate on real things in life such as family, career etc...Just glad i realised this at 22 and not 32 like some pro bbuilders

Good posts. Alex's posts are nothing but bragging. Everyone should think about what's worthwhile in life. But this is not about that. And the funny thing is that, more often than not, he's usually the most guilty of the things he belittles others about.

well, arvilla, true adonus, spermastase , robert ziruolo, MemberX, daddywaddy, dave mirza and so many others i cant even recall, spent months on here living in a fantasyworld thinking they were the shit because one or two posters happened to tell em that they looked good in a picture they posted striving for attention.

Then they all became addicted to it as i guess it helped em feel better about themselves and the troubles they might have been  coping with in theri real lifes.

But all came to realize in the end that it didnt make em truly happier, and the irony of this is that the more they thought they were worshiped by internet strangers the more they started to realize that 1 nobody truly gave a shit about them 2 their real life didnt improve much .

All in all attention whoring and e-bragging is a huge waste of time and a lie. It ain't going to make you feel better about your REAL life. If you can't be happy with your life, bragging about it (and most of the time, subtly lying about it) on the internet aint going to change much.
