Steroids

Alzado is probably most remembered today for being one of the first major U.S. sports figures to admit using steroids. In the years after his death, it became a well known fact that Alzado frequently had homosexual affairs, and the type of brain cancer that he had is typically only found in patients with a weak immune system. Afraid to die as a coward, he shouldered the blame on to steroid usage when the results of his HIV test came back, barring him from competition. It is a great source of shame for his family and haunted Alzado in his dying days. In the last years of his life, as he battled against the brain tumor that eventually caused his death at the age of 43, Alzado asserted that his steroid abuse directly led to his fatal illness, but his physician stated it could not possibly be true. According to some reports, Alzado was using natural growth hormone, harvested from human corpses, as opposed to synthetic growth hormones

I remember reading about all of the stories of lyle back in the days when boards were so wide open people said "list me" and get sent a catalog of juice inventory, pick your poison.  it was an awesome time when you got the heads up on certain people and their true roles over the years in this "sport". 

sadly, bush the first, used this testicle tickler's testimony as gospel to ramrod draconian regulations on anabolic substances in stark contrast to the wishes of the medical czars of the day... great sob  story, anyone else remember all the sweet dirt dug up from the graves back about 10 yrs ago when bolex was ruled by cool cats like "flex" and rocked a piss yellow tint?

steroids get a bad rap.  Used responsibly, they can improve quality of life greatly.

Unfortunately, even if they are banned for the wrong reasons, it's probably good they're banned for adults.

We all know that the vast majority of idiot kids today drink and use marijuana, even though it's illegal for them to do so.  If AAS was legal for adults, kids would get it and use it.  And you'd have ten million teenagers with seriously screwed up endocrine function, sterile, liver damage, bitch tits, etc.  And they'd all blame the gear.  And they'd sue the companies, and some jury full of soccer moms would award the idiot kid $100 billion (or some other silly amount) for his troubles.  As a result, steroid companies would go out of business anyway.

In this world - if you're smart enough to make good $, you are in a position to get test from a doc, or gear from another source.  The 'barriers to entry' for these dumbass kids is very high.

 MY BUDDY DAVE KNEW LYLE.. he was a typical meathead back then and used to hang out at golds venice quite a bit..he used to talk to lyle now and then.. he said he always heard the rumors but, was unsure.. but, they came fromguys who knew him well.. who knows?.. but, his own physician did stae publically that his illness was not from anabolics.. but, the press knew better  ::)

are you saying keep roids illegal so kid's can't get it?Hell when I was 16 I could get weed easier than alcohol.so I'm not sure about that.and as far as the lawsuits.you don't see alcoholics winning millions because they got cirrhosis

I'm saying that if they made steroids legal, there would be tens of millions of people who would fvck themselves up big time.

And you'd have thousands of lawsuits.  And the HRT that is available today would probably dry up as companies got sued out of existence.

As it is, if you want them, you can get them.  Find a doctor, or order online with a little bit of shrewdness.  Not my cup of tea, but if I want them in the future, I'll see a doctor.  As would most people. 

Really, you see how stupid kids can be... you'd have the majority of high school kids using them... and that would lead to a major cost for society... you think healthcare is expensive now... wait til we're subsidizing millions of idiots walking into ERs with destroyed hormone systems.

he was gay, or bi if there is such a thing, he hit on my boyfriend back in the 70's 80's.  have no reason to think he would make that up, although I think he is nuts for turning him down... ;D

Remember when he got his Rolls stolen while he went jogging up in Rolling Hills.  Never really talked to him but waved at him several times cause he lived down the street from us in Manhattan Beach
