30 second rest between a heavy set of intense squats!
WHAT>???
takes me about 5 minutes to recover.
U can;t be pushing yourself at all if ur ready to go again in 30 seconds

I tend to agree, over the last year I have really been working hard on the Squat rack and after a set I am normally seeing stars and feeling like I'm going to pass out, takes me 30 sec just to be able to open my eyes again and grab my water bottle for a drink :o.

as if chatting between sets makes you a "lazy" trainer, the strongest guy i've ever seen in my life would laugh and joke around with people between sets and take 5-6 minutes between sets easy but could bench 5 plates per side for 4-5 reps and throw around a 365 pound seated barbell shoulder press for a few reps, strong ass Samoan, seems like the "intense, don't look at me, walk around with a scowl" nerds you see in the gym are doing lateral raises with the 25's ans seated cable rows with 130. ::)

Its because they have to mentally prepair for that kind of weight....

kinda surprised to see a trainer recommending and encouraging someone to squat like that.. unless they're plyo squats or power (1/4) squats for that purpose... that's garbage man.

Terrible.I don't know where to start, but i'll give it a go:

*Those squats should be atleast to parallel, this is rediculous
*The weight is to heavy or the trainee is too weak
*You can't spot someone on the squat like that, if he misses the lift(whatever reason) there's no way you can hold the bar
*You don't have to touch the machine all the time, he's just doing quarter reps again with too much weight.
*That personal trainer should be ashamed of himself, how is he able to train anyone if he can't train himself? He's the type of 'trainer' that give all other PT's a bad rep.

Peace

This is not really true, you don't have to be some huge BB yourself to train someone properly.  Look at some of the NBA or collage BB coaches, many are little white guys.  Noel F has trained some top level BB, pro or armature.  He says he is fat so hes not saying is something special.

Yeah the reps were a bit short by the trainee and the constant yelling and grunting was kind of funny, but it looked like a hard workout for the guy.  Increasing intensity by using short rest between sets is one way to do it.  Good way to overload the muscles without using too heavy of weight.  manipulating the acute variables is how you keep workouts fresh and your body growing.

No, Like I said the guys reps were short of full ROM. Didnt he say it was the guys first big leg workout.  Hopefully as his motor control improves with practice his form and flexability will get better too.

I think you're right...there was a comment about it being a first something with regard to legs.  If so, the PT could have gotten destroyed by slowing down, reducing weight, and using full ROM.  Thats been my experience training people.  You dont need a lot when introducing leg workouts when all three of those things are done...and done properly.

dude, noel, please man your embarrassing yourself

check your ego at the door and stop wanting ass-kissing remarks regarding your "intense" leg workout video. I guess i should put "leg" in quotations as well, because what i seen, i didnt see much leg muscle stimulation. You don't impress me one bit, your the kind of person that gives bodybuilders a selfish reputation, you and your "look at me train" attitude is shameful. You don't train legs hard. I laughed at your video. If you did train legs hard, you wouldn't have that big ass stomach of yours droping over ur belt. You and your quarter reps, or what i'll call 1/8th reps are bullshit.

Where the hell do you get off advising someone to squat like that? If it was his first time training legs, put him under the fucking empty bar (or no bar at all) and have him squat all the way to the floor. Don't worry about looking like a pussy with less weight on the bar, worry about your form man. You wouldn't do a half bench, half curl, or half row for all your sets, so why do a half squat? Your a shame to the whole bodybuilding community. You wanted to show up a trainer in your gym, and embarrass him, so you videotape the whole workout and put it on youtube to make yourself look better. You shouldn't even be giving advice in the first place, someone should be giving you advice. Stop with the whole "you cant tell me anything, im smarter than everybody else is, i'm the only one that can advise other people". And lastly, stop with all the girlish challenges to people on this forum "yall dont work out" or "train with me, we'll puke together". I've puked after workouts, does that make me hardcore? Am i finally a man? I doubt it. Maybe puking for you is actually beneficial, lose some of that extra flab your carrying around, you fat ass piece of shit.
