Is powerlifting just an excuse for people to be fat?
« on: December 02, 2008, 06:04:58 PM »
I think it gives fat people the sense that they are an (Athlete)  ::)
it's an excuse for them to be fat and stay fat, "why don't you lose some weight you fat bastard"
"because I'm a powerlifter, I can't be strong unless I'm frigging obese"  ::)

You can tell "J Grey" is the type of "guy" that's a skinny 145 pounds with abs and as weak as a malnourished Ethiopian, what a twink. :-\

But I bet he can pull any chick he wants, right?  ::)

People tend to get interested in what they're good at.

So, the guy that's stocky (yes, maybe "fat") his whole life will think of himself as one of the stronger people in the population. This gives him what each of us needs, pride and purpose. He tests his strength and actually, he is pretty strong! Stronger than most! This is something he can be really good at! It makes him feel good and gives him purpose because he can really excel at it. A powerlifter is born.

People tend to do what they're good at if they're fortunate enough to find what that is. Someone who is strong by nature is more likely to get into being strong (ex., powerlifting) than someone who is not. Other people will get into the things they're good at and fortunate enough to discover. Therefore, we should always be grateful to find those things we love and are good at. This is why progress happens. This is what makes the world beautiful and diverse, and each and every one of us unique and special.

Thank you, J Grey, for reminding me of how this wonderful world brings itself together.  ;)

Well, whether that is or is not true, our number one objective in life should be to discover what we're good at and persue it 100%.

None of this "how many jobs are in this industry, that one..." bullshit. DISCOVER WHAT YOU'RE GOOD AT IT AND GO AT IT. Fuck the rest.
This is a dynamic world, people.
