exactly. If they want to nominate off-stage versions of Dorian, then 02 BFTO Ronnie is still better.
Better at what? looking like soft & mismatched ? if that's the case Ronnie wins
these are undeniable facts that you will never be able to change , Ronnie was NEVER has or as dry as Dorian.
another fact Neo is the heavier Ronnie became the worse his density & dryness became , which is exactly why his two best showing for conditioning are at his lightest 1998 Mr Olympia where he was 247 pounds and 2001 Arnold Classic at 247 pounds MAX
here is a quote from Peter McGough pointing this fact out
Quote Peter McGough Flex Magazine Jan 2001
RONNIE COLEMAN : ( 264lbs As big as a house , but holding water. In '98 , he was shredded and bone dry at 250 pounds. Last year ( 1999 ) he was 257 pounds but NOT as sharp as '98. This year ( 2000 ) at 264 pounds , he's not as sharp as 99 , which would seem to say that Ronnie is better at a lighter weight .See a pattern here? the heavier Ronnie becomes the more his density & dryness suffer , now when you type that Ronnie in the screencaps you posted is better it's most certainly NOT from a density & dryness standpoint
Now lets move on to balance & proportion , like density & hardness this suffers as well the heavier Ronnie became this is a fact , the heavier Ronnie became the more his quads dwarfed his calves , the bigger his triceps/biceps became the more evident his forearms weren't proportionate , same goes with his glutes that stick out and can actually be seen from the front , it's no wonder why 2001/1998 are considered his primes showings for the above mentioned reasons
Now this is not factoring the other parts of balance & proportion such as torso length , arm length in relation to the torso , leg length , upper & lower body balance , etc
Here is a quote from Wayne Demilla
Wayne Demilla " I've said to Ronnie , " What you've got to realize is that in 98-99 you were probably in the best proportion you could be for your frame . Those muscles have gotten bigger. Just cos you're bigger , doesn't make you better . "Stating exactly what I'm talking about , now out of the two Dorian has clearly better balance & proportion , in fact when asked directly about if he could beat Ronnie he said that he his better conditioned and better balanced he would know what to look for considering he's an IFBB judge
Here is Dorian on the topic of his balance & proportion
[ Q ] What were some of your better physical qualities as a bodybuilder, do you think?
Obviously I carried a lot of muscle mass and my trademark was to come into a show in super hard condition. I think my muscles had a certain quality and density from all the years of heavy training that a lot of guys didn't have.
One thing that I think people underrated me on - it was never really mentioned because of my sheer physical size and condition - was my balance and proportion. Not only from muscle group to muscle group, but from upper body to lower body. My skeletal structure and everything else was there and in good balance.
You underrate him on this as does a LOT of people ( In never did ) now let me add this concerns Dorian at his best , obviously you can post pics of him not looking exactly great in this department , but since we're talking about respective bests Dorian's balance & proportion is outstanding
Now here is a quote from another IFBB judge clearly confirming what I always said and what Dorian is talking about
Bev Francis : Bodybuilder's phsyique you most admire ?
The man Dorian Yates , his combonation of size and shape makes for an awesome physique , unlike a lot of big guys he's not a load of massive parts just thrown together , His symmetry is almost perfect , Everything is in proportion , no weak bodyparts . It's clear cut Dorian is harder & drier than Ronnie Coleman ANY year never mind in these pics and it's also clear cut Dorian has better balance & proportion ANY year never mind in these pics. So when you type he's better these are four areas he's clearly NOT better
Lets move on shall we? what's left? Muscular Bulk , now Ronnie I believe in these pics was 275 pounds or maybe more now this really isn't an advantage and why? it's not a dense and super dry 275 or more. And Dorian is 269 pounds and he's harder & drier has better balance & proportion so the extra bulk advantage is null & void and why? because
all rounds are physique rounds meaning that ALL of the criteria is applied at once in every single pose from every single angle , now Ronnie might meet part of this criteria better than Dorian ( lets say muscular bulk ) however he doesn't meet ALL of the criteria better than Dorian
Moving right along let get to posing & presentation , another clear advantage for Dorian , while neither is a great technical poser in the Makkawy , Labrada , Paris vane , Dorian is simply a better technical poser . He hit his mandatory poses effectively and accurately now you have to factor this in as well because
all rounds are physique rounds When all is said and done , Dorian simply meets the judging criteria better than Ronnie and you can substitute ANY year Ronnie you'd like and ALL of these advantages for Dorian still apply , he is still harder & drier , has better balance & proportion and depending on the year carries more muscular bulk , combine that with his advantage in posing & presentation and here is exactly why Dorian is better than Ronnie and would beat him in a contest
do you see how that's done Neo? unlike you I didn't just say " He's better " no blanket statement needed , I provided the facts , I backed up my statements , I presented a cognizant , coherent , argument based on how professional contests are judged using the Official I.F.B.B. criteria
You have and no one else has been able to counter this argument and never have and never will.
