Haha, well the rest of the UN told the US that if you just wade in and remove the government then all the different muslim factions within that country will start a war on the streets. It happened already in Afghanistan, but this was never a real concern for the US, since they ultimately bailed on the commitments to reparations and didn't mind leaving it in a mess, just don't say we didn't tell you so.
