Gil Grissom leaving CSI
« on: December 05, 2008, 08:32:50 AM »

Although I wasn't happy about the departure of Sara Sidle, I dealt with it.

When they killed off Warrick, though, the show was done.  I still watch, but more out of habit, not because I care anymore.

But now that Gil Grissom is leaving the show, I don't know if it will be watchable.  Laurence Fishbourne is an incredible actor, but I'm far from sold on his ability to save the show.

Oh well, I don't need to watch so much TV anyway.

I don't think anyone could replace William Peterson in this show.  Fishburne is an accomplished actor but he'll be held to an unfair standard (Peterson) when the show fails.

trust me after 12k posts and a long time on getbig things get a little repetitive around here, seen it all before comes to mind.
And to be honest the best times are over, back in the days with Alex, jason the jidd, Squadfather and many others it was way
way better.

'CSI' is set in Las Vegas, home of the most famous bodybuilder in the world, Mr. Craig Titus.

I wasn't big on Sara, so could have cared less.  Warrick was a good character.  Gil makes the show IMO.

  Gil makes the show IMO.

Gil made the show somewhat mysterious and dark. At the same time, he was a very uplifting and motivating character. I loved that about the show.

I'm very curious to see what direction the show takes, as I'm not sure Fishbourne can or will even attempt the same type of character Grissom was.

I remember thinking about a year ago how original the cast was, very little changes to the entire CSI team, and those were mainly the tertiary characters like the handwriting expert or the guy that compared bullets. Now half the cast is gone!

Gil is supposed to still be making appearances on the show from time to time.

I swear if Marg goes, I'm committing suicide. :'(
