Bowl Matchups

Well...the ones that matter.  Can the Orange Bowl opt out of its' teams?  I'd be pissed if I were the FedX people. 

VT vs Cin - This has to be the saddest pairing in a major bowl in the last 10 yrs.

BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, Miami - Jan. 8, 8 p.m., Fox
Matchup: BCS No. 1 vs. BCS No. 2
This week's projection: Oklahoma vs. Florida   
  
ROSE BOWL, Pasadena, Calif. - Jan. 1, 4:30 p.m., ABC
Matchup: BCS vs. BCS
This week's projection: USC vs. Penn State
   
ORANGE BOWL, Miami - Jan. 1, 8 p.m., Fox
Matchup: BCS vs. BCS
This week's projection: Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati 
 
SUGAR BOWL, New Orleans - Jan. 2, 8:30 p.m., Fox
Matchup: BCS vs. BCS
This week's projection: Alabama vs. Utah   

FIESTA BOWL, Glendale, Ariz. - Jan. 5, 8 p.m., Fox
Matchup: BCS vs. BCS
This week's projection: Texas vs. Ohio State

VT and Cincy are both Big East teams, they shoudln't have two teams from the same conference in a bowl.

that's what i was thinking.  then again...it's all corporate these days but do they even want the tickets as a write off?  empty seats...given people will opt for the nightlife early.  any VT or Cin students on here because i'm interested in a pair but will only pay subseat value?

I have noticed that the ACC championship has had a lot of empty seats the past 2 years...compare that to the SEC or Big 12 championship.

Why not Texas vs Alabama?  They are ranked 3 and 4 respectively.  Ohio State?  What are they, #359?  Texas would get more competition from P.S. 182 from the Bronx.  ::)

VT fans travel, so I think they will get a decent turnout from their side...Cincy, wow, sad....
