Mike was Better than nasser "The Slab". Mike beat Flex for the 1995 Arnold Classic, granted Flex came off of a broken neck, but he looked better than he did at the O. Something Nasser came never brag about, he NEVER beat a on Flex Wheeler.

Mike was what Jay Cutler could never be. The cuts, the shape, the mass, on the same hieght frame.

 Not just  the Best White bodybuilder of the modern era, but one of the best Period.

in a lot of these comp shots he was already sick with colitis... his body literally wasn't absorbing nutrients - but he still looked incredible.

Took the words out of my mouth. He was already very sick by 1996. He came in shrunken by 1997 and then all went to SHIT. He lost a LOT of weight and just could no longer hang with the big boys.

If Francois would have stayed healthy, he would have taken over the "O" post-retirement from Yates.

His body would have progressed substantially between 95 and 98. Mr. Olympia is a back contest, and his was as good as anybody's, give or take. He could hold his own with Yates and Coleman from the back. His arms were as good as Coleman. And when he was in shape, he was harder than anyone else.

Not to mention, there was everything to like about the guy from a marketing standpoint. Young, blond, good looking, great for magazine covers, well spoken, soft spoken, unimpeachable character (guy was going to become a priest), married...all the wholesome things America wants in a champion. It would have worked.

The only other guy, who, if he'd stayed healthy could have been Mr. O instead of Mike, would have been Dennis Newman.

I couldn't agree more. These are men who never really saw there potential. Kind of like Lou Ferrigno giving up after 1975. If he would have stayed on after 1975 what would he have looked like by 1983? Actually, same could be said for Arnold.

How was Mike "better" than Nasser?  He unfairly was placed ahead of Nasser at the 94 NOC since Nasser was an up and commer at the time - even MuscleTime commented that the decision was obviously unfair in 94.  After 94 they competed together many times and Francois never came close to Nasser in placings.  Different tiers altogether.

The day after the 94 NOC they were supposed to do a photoshoot together with Chris Lund and Francois backed out of it knowing that it would only produce more comparison photos that would allow the unbiased would be able to conclude that his victory the day before was unfair.
