In the last few years, what Stallone has accomplished is actually quite remarkable. When it was first announced that another Rocky was to be made, to say people were skeptical would be an understatement. He brought the character back after a 16 year hiatus, with the last film Rocky V, having been a disappointment. Everyone wrote Sly off, but against the odds, in the very same fashion as his characters, he made the sixth installment both a critical and financial success. He then followed Rocky Balboa with Rambo, a character that had not been seen in 20 years. In doing so, he shed light on a very real and dire situation in Burma, and at the same time, showed the world once again what a real action hero really is. Which is even more amazing, when one considers his being past 60 years of age, and putting in 18 hour days as writer, director and star. In a cinematic world full of CGI and muscle suits, Sly is truly the last of the true action stars.
