Muscle cars selling for close to $500,000
« on: December 13, 2008, 06:39:32 PM »

Not sure if any of you are watching the auction on HDT right now, but some of these beautiful machines from the late-60s/early-70s are fetching more than most of our homes are worth. LOL

Man if I was able to keep my 67 Firebird and got that thing looking this good it would have been a high priced car like these.

Certain cars will always go up in value no matter what happens to the dollar.  The people who collect these machines have the spare dough.

This Amero shit is laughable.  If it happens, there's nothing you can do about it...so why worry?  If all of the things Alex Jones and his kind preach actually come true, we're all SCREWED.  It's all a bunch of fear-mongering about things of which we have little or no control.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread....as a replacement for the dollar when it drops to zero.

yes I just saw...

but on a serious note it would take a major shift from how things are right now to devalue the american dollar... I don't see it happening as the already shaky staple industries that employ thousands of people in the US are in jeopardy and news of that magnitude would truly shake the weak foundations as they stand now... maybe sometime down the road but not anytime in the near future.

who is worried? Just because someone talks about something doesn't mean they are worried...That is a retarded statement...When you desensitize yourself to anything, you handle things in a much cooler/calmer way...

Most of those who talk about the Amero believe it is something to be worried about.  The context in which you brought it up was alarmist.

Well, I think most objective people would agree with me my response.  The dollar crashing and being replaced with the Amero is not a comforting or welcome event for most...is it?  Come correct, TV.

That's the thing - who could've known, say, in 1972, that these things would have unreal value in 35 years?

As a kid, I remember thinking, "Nice, but maybe something newer would be better".  WRONG.

Out in the country, I saw countless Falcons, Impalas, and Chargers, etc. up on blocks.

I don't have to have anything fancy, but the thought of spending even $40-50,000 on a car I'd only drive maybe once a month seems a bit extravagant.

I guess if you wear an american flag pin on your left chest region and would suck Uncle Sam's cock for coke...The joining of Canada and Mexico with the U.S may seem scary for most...But if you believe America was always an experiment to grow technology/dumb down the masses/and come up with really fcking cool diseases, then the Amero is just the next evolution state of North America...

I think America was the first experiment of unrestrained/unregulated capitalism.  We're guinea pigs, plain and simple.

Jesus bro do you ever turn on the T.V? Everything coming out of it is not comforting...Anyone who can figure out this Rubik's cube will be that much more better off then the masses who will pay the price for apathy of the mind...

There is an end goal/goals for every experiment ever created by humans...What was the goal/goals is the million dollar question...If the masses don't want to take part in trying to find that out before it happens then so be it...

Supposed "muscle cars" are nothing but slow turds in stock form. Most of them couldn't even run with a Camry these days. The baddest muscle car of them all, the 1970 LS6 chevelle, is a mid 13 second car. Today you can take a junkyard 5.3L from a GM truck, stick in a cam, and for a grand total of about $700 have an engine putting down a minimum of 320 to the wheels, all while still getting 25-30 mpg on the highway in your typical car.
