I wouldn't be surprised at if they end up moving all production and R&D over to China and then just ship the cars over here (if anyone still wants them). Like you say, if it's all about profit, you wouldn't have anything against that right?
No, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
Because you should never try to save factories that are not competitive.
It only prolongs and makes the problem worse in the end.
I would have a problem with that so little has been done to give the car makers a competitive edge.
Nothing has been done to develop electric cars or to get the electric companies to build a national "electric fueling system" with small nodes where the electric car can plug in throughout the interstate highways.
USA just has to have the better products, not the cheaper products.
That's why it is important that the US government spends money on education and research to make USA competitive.
That will keep the high-tech industries in USA.
