I wouldn't be surprised at if they end up moving all production and R&D over to China and then just ship the cars over here (if anyone still wants them). Like you say, if it's all about profit, you wouldn't have anything against that right?

Because you should never try to save factories that are not competitive.

It only prolongs and makes the problem worse in the end.

I would have a problem with that so little has been done to give the car makers a competitive edge.

Nothing has been done to develop electric cars or to get the electric companies to build a national "electric fueling system" with small nodes where the electric car can plug in throughout the interstate highways.


USA just has to have the better products, not the cheaper products.

That's why it is important that the US government spends money on education and research to make USA competitive.

That will keep the high-tech industries in USA.

I agree. But they did sell a lot of cars for 20 years, what happened with that money? They had all the possibilities to put some into R&D, I guess they were not able to come up with anything and left scratching their heads when Toyota and Honda broke their spine. They want us to bail them out AND buy their shitty products. After all this is settled, what image will they have?
