It's part of a genius marketing campaigns actually.  The fact that the video serious was posted for no reason on a bb board proves that.

Are you referring to the ''genius'' who posted it?

I believe that BK's current media mix is among the very best.  Do you disagree?  You know you're doing a good job with your media plan if you see people dressing up as your spokesperson (the king character) for halloween.

I agree it is the one of the greatest.  I was just pointing out that nobody was questioning whether the Whopper was going to be discontinued as you may have asserted.

I see.  I didn't think I asserted that, but if so that was not my intention.  Thats said, I believe that BK has done a wonderful job with their marketing over the last 5 years.  Apple is the only brand that I can think of that has done better.  The priceless campaign by VISA also comes to mind.

Yes.  I work in advertising and marketing, so I study a lot of the successful branding campaigns that are working nationally.  BK is WAY ahead of the curve in regards to Viral Video, Web based interactive branding tools and highly effective TV commericals.  Crispin Porter + Bogusky has done a FANTASTIC job with BK.

I used to LOVE the VW ads.  When I was a kid, I had a huge book on their advertising from the 30s and all the way up.  The genius came in that they had to market the Beetle somehow even though it did not change at all for 50 plus years.  In the past VW set the standard.  Have you read any of Edward Bernays books?  He is the best.  I also am subscribed to a Youtube user who puts up old commercials from the 60s, 70s and 80s and it is interesting to see the Zeitgeist play out in advertising right before your eyes as time moves on.

I also think Orson Welles "Peas" has to be one of the greatest moments in advertising.  ;D
