Milos Dissed In New Flex....

Im not sure if anyone else noticed this, (or if anyone else cares for that matter), but in the new flex, there is an article about Dennis James, and they quote DJ as saying that he would never listen to any advice that Milos ever had to say again, and that he screwed him up.

If I get time I will pull out the magazine and provide a direct quote. What suprised me was the tone that Flex used on one of their former golden boys in Milos....

I never understood the need for a "guru" anyway, these guys have been doing this long enough by the time they are Pros, they should know how their own bodies work/respond.

Exactly. I don't agree with a lot of what Milos advocates, but DJ is (in)famous for screwing up his conditioning and looking far less impressive onstage than he does in the days leading up to the contest. And DJ has screwed up tons of time, including when he was being trained by other people - he only nailed his conditioning onstage about 3 - 4 times in the whole of the 8+ years he competed in.

Agreed. It's because rather than work their ass off and do their homework like the guys known for their work ethic (Dorian Yates, Ronnie etc), they take it easy with the prep (cutting corners with cardio etc) and then try and make up for it using drugs.

Well Ronnie worked with Chad Nichols he  obviously knew what he was doing. I think when you are at the top a guru can be a good thing mainly as a second pair of eyes to honestly monitor your progress. Also a guru is a motivational coach. I think Phil who 5 years ago didn't know the least about bb and diet probably owes much of his achievements to Hany. I don't know about Milos. His guys always start out great at first but then they have a few bad shows and a falling out with Milos. I always thought it was a money issue personally.

Its hard to know where to stand with Milos...

I remember one conversation I had with Silvio... he told me that back when he was prepping him he would have him take 20 I.U.s of Humalog pre workout and post workout.... which in my opinion is WAY on the high end of the spectrum.... His "advices" have also managed to make a few of his clients sick.

On the other hand I have to give him some credit.... he actually gets in the trenches with his clients and trains his ass off with them...set for set... and his workouts are far more brutal then some of his contemporaries, (I.e. Glass etc)... Bottom line is that he has a great passion for bodybuilding, and is in fact quite knowledgeable, but he falters in that he thinks he knows everything. Truth be told the endocrine system is so complex I don't think anyone could ever have enough of a grasp on it to be dispensing general advices....

The sad reality is that none of these top guys are capable of being analytical, and assessing what works/doesent for their body's. If one is pragmatic in their approach and willing to be honest with themselves, one can outthink obstacles that occur in bodybuilding/contest prep.

Paying a "guru" for advice is just pissing their money down the drain as far as I'm concerned when they could be spending it on more important things to win them contests. (like more/better drugs for example).
