BenchAmerica 3 was also a drug tested event and all prize winners were tested and had to pass their tests prior to their getting paid. All of the officials were affiliated with either the USPF , the USAPL , the APF or a combination of the three. Except for a few controversial "belly bench" calls on the part of the judges the meet was exceptionally well ran.
Bench America 3 was aired on Comcast Sports Net nationwide. Joe Mukite , the top co-sponsor, producer and promoter, paid out over $20,000 in cash prizes in addition to his bringing the sport of professional benchpressing to the general sports fan public.
