Liddell Wants Rematch With Keith Jardine In March
« on: December 22, 2008, 07:22:50 AM »
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell is calling for a rematch against Keith Jardine at UFC 96 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on March 7, according to a recent radio interview on The Tom Leykis Show.

Here’s a snip:

“There’s been a few names. We have Jardine listed. We want him in March.” stated Liddell.

That's actually one I would look forward to seeing.  It would show us if Liddell has managed to bring up his game in any way.  If he got KO'd though, you could stick a fork in him...

What would be a great idea for Chuck is to come out and shoot...  totally catch the other off guard.  Chuck's game plan is way too predictable.

Regardless, i don't see him losing to jardine 2 times.

That is why I don't understand why Chuck would want to fight Jardine.  Jardine has been relegated to gatekeeper, if Chuck loses to him again, he is done.  I'd parlay the big PPV draw and fight Anderson instead and make the dough.  I believe Chuck gets 3% of PPV revenue.  It is a no win scenario against Jardine.

Well, i don't see him winning anymore against a big name. He only has a couple of fights in him i believe.

If he fights against a big name he will make good money, but he will lose and his career is over.

Against Jardine, he will make decent money, plus he has a good chance of winning. That way he can fight another time and then make big bucks in maybe a last fight against a big name.

He'd better have changed up his game significantly.  Jackson is the master of game planning.  Chuck has too many tendencies that leave him vulnerable, at this point, it is dubious what Liborio, Jackson, will be able to do with a dog who doesn't want to learn new tricks.

the only reason chuck wants the rematch is because he knows he can beat jardine, and put him back into the win column

This would be a horrible move for chuck. If he wins- who gives a shit? Jardines is a marginal fighter at best- If chuck loses, his career is finished. Plus, based on Chucks last three fights- its kind of obvious he has a suspect chin-- If he wanted a tune up against an inferior fighter, why not pick one that hasn't ko'd him already--

hmm.  Could still be an interesting fight, but I think it is a no-win situation for him.  He seriously needs to change his game though.  waiting for an overhead right all the time isn't cutting it.
