Vegas is great. People only see the strip and casino related tourist sites on TV but that is only about 10% of the town. the thing you have to get used to when living there or being there longer than a simple vacation is that EVERYONE is in the service trade. EVERYONE. So everyone gets tipped. I used to manage a restaurant there and every one of my servers would walk with at least $150 a shift minimum. A buddy of mine was a valet guy at a mid level hotel and took in $200 a shift easy, and its only about a five hour shift. Everyone pays everyone else. The money there just gets passed around. Everyone always has cash on them, very little payed with plastic. There is a ton of cool shit to do off the strip if you know where to look. Hell, there are mountains 40 miles away and it snows there.
